Youth Programs

youth sponsored programs

One of the objectives of the Navy League of the United States is to educate adolescent youth about the U. S. Sea Services and help provide them valuable leadership training and useful life skills. The Navy League accomplishes this objective through sponsorship of youth programs by local Councils. Councils, depending on their resources and community financial support, sponsor Navy Sea Cadet Corps, Naval and Marine Corps Junior ROTC programs; and the Young Marine program. These programs provide the participants, many who are underprivileged kids, with leadership training, skills, and values that help prepare them for potential service in one of the U. S. Sea Services. For those who do not join one of the Sea Services, what they learn helps prepare them for gainful employment in the private or public sectors. The Greater Kansas City Council sponsors the listed youth programs. Donations in support of our Sponsored Youth Programs are appreciated. Click on the TAKE ACTION Tab to donate.
