Taps at the Tower on Fathers Day
On the evening of Father’s Day, the Navy League of Kansas City joined veterans, families, and community members for a moving observance of “Taps at the Tower” — a solemn tradition held at the National World War I Museum and Memorial.
As the sun set behind the iconic Liberty Memorial, the familiar notes of “Taps” echoed over the grounds, offering a poignant tribute to those who have served and sacrificed — especially those we remember on this day, both as fathers and as fallen heroes.
The ceremony served as a reminder that the values of duty, honor, and family are woven deeply into the fabric of our community. The Navy League KC was proud to stand alongside service members, Gold Star families, and patriotic citizens to reflect on the legacy of the sea services and all who have given so much.
We thank the World War I Museum for hosting this annual remembrance and look forward to continuing our mission of honoring service through presence and community engagement
